It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our founder, Theodore (John) Sheehy.
Born in Michigan in 1931, he passed away on Monday, December 6th in Toronto, Ontario…Where he had made his home for over 50 years. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sheila as well as his children and grandchildren.
John was an entrepreneur at heart and founded the original IFG, with its innovative transactional invoice finance concept in 1972. He repeatedly threatened to retire (in fact we had several retirement parties for him over the years), but kept coming back to the office until he finally wound down a bit about 5 years ago.
John continued to travel extensively and spent his life in many active pursuits until his passing.
He will be deeply missed as IFG continues to build on his legacy of innovation and entrepreneurship.
